How Sponsorship Works at the Tour de France

Sponsorship at the Tour de France operates on two distinct levels: event-level partnerships and team-level title sponsorships.

Event partners are appointed by the race organiser and are integrated into the overall event environment. Their visibility typically includes roadside branding, broadcast exposure, hospitality environments and operational roles such as vehicle supply or timing services.

Team title sponsors, by contrast, support individual teams competing in the race. Their branding is primarily visible on team jerseys, vehicles and associated media coverage. These sponsorship agreements are negotiated independently of the event organiser.

Together, these two layers form the commercial environment surrounding the Tour de France.

The commercial value of these partnerships is closely linked to the race’s global visibility, detailed in our Tour de France Media Reach analysis.
