What December’s sponsorship updates reveal about long-term planning, partner stability and commercial structure in WorldTour cycling
December 2025 marked a period of structural change at Alpecin-Deceuninck. From the 2026 season onwards, the men’s WorldTour team will compete as Alpecin-Premier Tech. The women’s WorldTour programme will race as FENIX-Premier Tech.
This article was updated on 17 and 22 December following additional sponsorship announcements.
At the same time, the organisation confirmed multiple sponsorship updates. These include title sponsors, long-term partners, media cooperation and mobility support.
Taken together, December did not deliver a single headline deal. Instead, it revealed a broader consolidation of the team’s commercial structure ahead of 2026.
Title sponsors: continuity and transition
Alpecin extends title partnership
At the beginning of December, Alpecin confirmed the extension of its title sponsorship until the end of 2027. The agreement includes an option for an additional year.
Alpecin has been closely linked to the team since 2020. It remains the central anchor of the project.
Eduard Dörrenberg, CEO of the Dr. Wolff Group, described the partnership as long-term, stating that “for six exceptional years, our partnership with the team has demonstrated what is possible when shared ambition, trust, and performance guide every step forward.”
The extension secures commercial stability across multiple seasons. Similar naming and sponsorship adjustments can be observed across the WorldTour teams entering the 2026 season, as outlined in a broader market overview.
Premier Tech joins as co-title partner from 2026
Only days later, the team announced Premier Tech as a new co-title partner from 2026. The agreement runs for three years, with an option to extend.
Philip and Christoph Roodhooft welcomed the partnership, calling it “a powerful sign of confidence in our project and in the way we operate.” They added that the deal provides continuity and stability across both men’s and women’s programmes.
In practical terms, Premier Tech strengthens long-term planning, supporting both sporting ambition and organisational growth, as outlined in the official announcement.
Jean Bélanger, President and CEO of Premier Tech, framed the move as long-term. He said: “We strongly believe in long-term partnerships built on shared values, performance and human development.”
The agreement follows Premier Tech’s exit from its co-title role at the former Israel–Premier Tech team at the end of 2025. That organisation continues under a new setup as the NSN Cycling Team from 2026.
At Alpecin, Premier Tech now becomes the long-term title partner.
Deceuninck steps back from naming rights
As part of the transition, Deceuninck steps back from the title position. However, the brand remains involved as a partner.
This represents a recalibration rather than a withdrawal. The title layer is adjusted. The broader sponsor portfolio remains intact.
Core partners extend long-term
Beyond title sponsors, several partners extended their agreements in December. These include WHOOP, IKO, Brustor and Zwift.
Update January 2026: In addition, training technology partner Wahoo Fitness has renewed and expanded its partnership with the organisation for the next three years, covering both the men’s and women’s programmes.

The extensions cover performance technology, training platforms and operational support. Most agreements run beyond the immediate season horizon.
As a result, the team reduces short-term uncertainty. Key functional areas remain stable.
Golden Palace News joins as media partner
Update: 17 December
In mid-December, the team announced Golden Palace News as a media partner from January 2026.
Golden Palace News is the digital media platform of the Belgian betting and entertainment group Golden Palace. It focuses on sports content and operates mainly through online and social media channels.
Within the partnership, Golden Palace News adds a media and distribution layer. It complements existing communication channels rather than acting as a traditional sponsor or broadcaster.
Škoda partnership extended
Update: 22 December
To close the month, Alpecin-Deceuninck confirmed the extension of its partnership with Škoda.
Škoda continues to provide vehicles for races and training activities. The agreement underlines operational reliability and long-term planning.
The bigger picture behind the announcements
Alpecin-Deceuninck’s December announcements highlight a broader shift in WorldTour sponsorship. Rather than chasing short-term visibility, teams increasingly prioritise long-term partners that support both men’s and women’s programmes.
The integration of Premier Tech as a co-title sponsor, combined with the retention of operational partners, reflects a portfolio approach to sponsorship — balancing stability, ambition and scalability across multiple seasons.
As cycling fans, we can’t help but look ahead to the new season with curiosity, eager to see how this active and visible team — led by superstar Mathieu van der Poel — will present itself on the road in 2026.
